On the evening of December 11, 2018, many alumni of the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (AOS), who are attending the 2018 Fall Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in Washington DC, gathered to meet friends of old and new. The alumni shared their memorable life experiences of the period in the Peking University campus, and exchanged information about current status. They expressed their care about the development of AOS. Professor Yongyun Hu, the department chair, made a short speech at the party and invited everyone to the 90th anniversary of AOS in the coming. He also sent the AOS desk calendars to the alumni as gifts.
This yearly alumni gathering at AGU has become a tradition. This year, more than 80 people attended, being the largest gathering in past. The attendances included nearly 20 graduate students and undergraduates, and 5 current faculty members of AOS. Alumni Yu Gu, Hui Su, Likun Wang, and Longtao Wu have done a lot of work in organizing and preparing the gathering.
