The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of Peking University invites domestic and foreign talents in atmospheric and oceanic sciences to join the faculty. Two positions are available in physical oceanography, of ocean general circulation, ocean biogeochemical cycle, ocean model development, and satellite oceanography. Four positions are available in atmospheric sciences,radiation and remote sensing, climate dynamics and modeling, synoptic and meso-scale meteorology, cloud physics, atmospheric boundary layer, land-air interaction, and planetary atmosphere. All positions are at the tenure-track assistant professor level under the “Young Qianren” and “Bairen Program”. For exceptional cases, a more senior starting position may be considered. Applications must be received by September 30, 2015. The positions will remain open until filled.

The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences offers comprehensive academic programs for undergraduates, Master’s students, and Ph.D. students (http:/). There are currently 28 faculty members with diverse research interests, including radiation and remote sensing, climate dynamics, atmospheric dynamics, synoptic and meso-scale meteorology, cloud physics, atmospheric chemistry, boundary layer meteorology, air-sea-land interaction, physical oceanography, numerical weather prediction, and planetary atmosphere etc.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in related research disciplines
At least two years of postdoctoral research experience

Start-up research funding is available. The amount of funding is dependent on the applicant’s research area.
Base annual salary is competitive. For detailed salary information, please contact the Department.
Subject to availability, a 2-bedroom university apartment may be rented at a reduced rate. Better housing support is likely in the near future.
